Descrizione

Note concettuali

Description

In Cement Root the artist constructs a delicate dialogue between nature and artifice, life and inert matter. The image of a bare tree, seemingly emerging or dissolving into the wall surface, transforms the wall itself into a mental landscape. The rough texture of the plaster becomes both earth and sky, an ambiguous place where the boundary between organic and constructed dissolves. The work is part of a contemporary research that explores the tension between permanence and fragility, between natural memory and urban stratification. The tree, devoid of leaves, evokes the concept of cyclicality and resistance: a vital form that, even confined in concrete, retains a sense of dignity and stillness. The choice of monochrome reinforces the meditative nature of the image, inviting the viewer to silent, almost ascetic contemplation. Through a subtle use of material and symbol, the artist goes beyond simple representation to generate a suspended perceptual experience, where the wall becomes a membrane between inside and outside, between presence and absence.

Conceptual notes

For the artist Cement Root represents an attempt to rediscover nature within artifice, to bring out a vital principle even where it seems impossible. The tree growing in the wall is a symbol of resilience and hope, but also of memory: it reminds us that every surface carries within itself an underground, invisible history, ready to blossom again. The work arises from a reflection on urban identity and the relationship between humans and the environment, understood no longer as opposition, but as an inevitable fusion. In this sense, Cement Root is not just an image, but a poetic act: an invitation to recognize life in the most unexpected places.
